The America Invents Act will be implementing its final rules which become effective on September 16, 2012.  To spread the news and share the information the USPTO will be hosting eight roadshows around the country. The roadshows are free to everyone and open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Some of the main focal points they will discuss are rules for the first-inventor-to-file provision, citation of patent owner statements, supplemental examination, post grant review and covered business method review.

The tour will start in Minneapolis and end in New York City with stops in Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, and at its campus in Alexandria, Virginia. The USPTO will explain the rules and answer audience questions.

It is important for every inventor to be aware of and understand these new rules in the AIA. New Product Consulting will be attending the Los Angeles roadshow. If you or anyone you know needs help with their invention, please contact us at New Product Consulting.
